The following are the terms and conditions for having a temporary nanny, permanent nanny or home-based educator through Annies Nannies.
Temporary Nanny Information
Dear Parent/Guardian
Even though your nanny will only be working for you temporarily please take the time to discuss your family’s routines and your expectations of the nanny in-depth BEFORE your nanny starts work. We have outlined some important information for you to give the nanny.
Safety
- Your correct address (if there was an emergency, she needs to be able to give concise instructions to those at 111)
- What is the Fire escape plan?
- Are there any hazards she should be aware of? Stairs, balconies the children could fall off, a swimming pool, or is the house close to a busy road?
- Where is the fire-extinguisher kept?
- Where is the mains power board?
Important phone numbers
- Parent’s cell phone number
- Work phone number if appropriate
- Phone number of where you have gone to (if appropriate)
- Name and contact details of a close family member or neighbor who can be contacted if needed
Medical information
- Children’s full names and dates of birth
- The phone number for the children’s Doctor
- Are the children taking any medicine?
- Do they have any allergies or other medical conditions such as asthma? Explain how to administer any medication if needed
Children’s Routines
- What are their meal and bed times?
- What do they love to do?
- Do they have any chores/homework that needs to be completed?
Activities
- What are their preferences? Favourite toys and games?
- What are they allowed to do?
- What are they forbidden to do? I.e. certain food, areas of the house, play-stations, computer, internet etc
Time frame
- How long is the nanny required?
- What time are you due home?
- Could you get held up?
If you are in any way dissatisfied with your nanny please contact our office as soon as possible. If we are unable to rectify the issues, then we will look at replacing your nanny.

Terms and Conditions – Temporary Nannies
Annies Nannies is a trade name owned by Florence Nightingale Childcare Ltd. Any reference in these terms and conditions to “Annies Nannies” or “the Agency” refers to the legal entity Florence Nightingale Childcare Ltd.
- The Agency agrees to ensure that your Temporary Nanny:
- has a current first aid certificate
- has a full/clean NZ driver license
- has childcare experience
- provides quality care for your children
- ensures that your children’s routines and your instructions are adhered to
- You agree to:
- provide a safe/secure environment for the temporary nanny
- provide a smoke-free environment for the temporary nanny
- provide tea & coffee making facilities for the temporary nanny
- pay all monies owed (including the Agency Fee) in full to the temporary nanny at the end of the temporary placement
- adhere to these terms & conditions
- Employment of a temporary nanny through Annies Nannies – Nannies and Home-based Childcare constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
- Annies Nannies – Nannies and Home based Childcare (“the agency”) has used its best endeavours, in reviewing the temporary nanny’s references, qualifications, training, experience and information disclosed by the temporary nanny and/or referees, to select a temporary nanny suitable for your needs as advised by you. If for any reason, your temporary nanny proves unsuitable or unsatisfactory for you, or the employment of the temporary nanny is terminated due to the nanny becoming ill or terminating her/his employment, the Agency will use its best endeavours to provide a suitable replacement temporary nanny.
- The childcare package is non-refundable. All payments are to be made directly to the Agency prior to the commencement of the childcare. Any shortfalls in payments will result in the immediate cessation of care.
- The Agency acts as an agent for you and is not an employer of temporary nannies. The Agency’s role is to procure suitable placements, bearing in mind the information and requirements supplied by you and the availability of suitable temporary nannies.
- The Agency accepts no liability or responsibility for an injury, loss mishap, accident or illness suffered by you or any other person as a result of the employment of the temporary nanny and you agree to indemnify the Agency should any action be taken against the Agency as a result of your employment of the temporary nanny. In the event that you, notwithstanding this clause, endeavour to issue proceedings and are successful against the agency, then the quantum of damages shall be limited to TEN DOLLARS ($10.00).
