Our Services
All nannies who register with Annies Nannies are subjected to thorough checks and interviews before we will allow them to go forward for positions.
We require all of our nannies to have either, Early Childhood or Nanny Qualifications or at least one year’s continuous childcare experience. They must have current first-aid certificates and a full/clean driver’s licence.
We speak to at least two child-related referees and check all credentials and, of course, they all have extensive police checks which are updated every six to eight months.
ACC Nannies
If you find that through injury you are no longer able to care fully for your child, you may be eligible for a nanny through ACC. Our contract for providing ACC childcare is held by our parent company Florence Nightingale Childcare Ltd. Check us out at www.florence2care.co.nz
We are available to provide childcare at times that suit your family and your children's routines. Phone the office today or speak to your ACC Case Manager about using Florence Nightingale Childcare and Annies Nannies to provide your ACC childcare and home-help requirements.
Nanny Educators
Wouldn’t it be great for your child to wave goodbye to you in the morning? Once you choose one of our nannies you can enjoy leaving home without the mad rush and chaos. Children can relax and your nanny will stick to your routines and educate and nurture your child. You don’t need to take time off if the children are sick and you will come home to a warm, tidy house with maybe even dinner prepared!
We have full-time and part-time nannies available for your family, as well as nannies available for after-school childcare positions. Once we have your requirements, we will contact our nannies who suit your job description and endeavour to have nannies ready for you to interview as soon as possible.
We advise that you have an employment contract and complete our job description template with your nanny. We can supply you with examples of these.

Nanny Share
At times we have families looking to share the costs of a nanny with a second family. This situation is referred to as 'nanny share'. Families meet to check compatibility, then together select the nanny who will provide childcare for both families in either families home. Please contact the office if you wish to register your interest.
Educational Service
Our permanent nanny placements and families are entitled to:
- Free Educational resources,
- Monthly visits from a qualified Early Childhood Educator,
- Support for your Nanny,
- Learning scrapbooks to journal your child’s progress,
- Access to Work and Income subsidies,
- 20 Hours ECE subsidies for all 3 & 4 year olds
Home-Based Educators
This service is held in the nanny’s own home. It offers all of the above benefits with the social interactions of a miniature preschool at home. Our home-based educators go through the same procedures as all of our nannies who register with us as well as extra checks on their home and family. A maximum limit of 4 children in a home-based situation ensures your child will experience both one-on-one time with their educator and group activities tailored to their specific interests. The Educator is supported by our Programme Coordinators who will help them plan a specific educational programme for your child.
These services are currently available in the Christchurch, Marlborough/ and Nelson.
Temporary Nannies
Are your children sick and cannot go to preschool or school? Are you sick and cannot take care of your children? Do you have a new baby and need help? Just need a day off?
There are many reasons you may need a temporary nanny. We can arrange a nanny to come to your home at short notice to cover any of your childcare requirements.
Temporary Nannies are $15 minimum per hour with an agency fee of $25 per day. Please note the hourly rate for work on public holidays is $18.

Babysitting – Evening Childcare
Our evening babysitters are available to enable you to have a night out, confident in the knowledge that your children are safe.

Babysitters are $13.00 per hour and our agency fee is $25 per babysitter per evening.
